Superior Select Seafood

In 2020, Superior Food Company announced a new package design for their Superior Select Seafood line. The new look brought a cohesive look to the entire line and paid homage to the bright fresh colors previously used for the well-known brand.

The new package design was created to allow for the branding and product information to be printed separately–allowing for information such as ingredients, nutrition facts, and UPCs to be changed at any time. This process reduces the cost of reprinting labels and allows existing labels to be used more effectively.

Color Scheme

The new Superior Select label design features an array of bright fresh colors similar to the colors of their past package designs. The bright colors are recognizable to the brand and stand out in retail displays. The ten colors are used to distinguish between different products and/or flavor profiles within each product category.

QR Codes in Label Design

Each newly designed label features a QR code. The QR codes are located on the back of every Superior Select label near the ingredients and cooking instructions.

What is a QR Code?

A QR code is a type of matrix barcode that once scanned will redirect the user to a URL which provides more information for the product. QR codes can be scanned using the native camera app or a QR code specific app on a mobile device.

How Can QR Codes Be Used?
